Dr. Tristan Eggener, DMA

Dr. Tristan Eggener earned his doctorate and master’s degrees in musical arts from Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York. A versatile musician, Tristan Eggener has toured the world in various musical capacities, including with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Synergy Brass Quintet, and the CMF Baroque Orchestra. His primary instruments are low brass and upright/electric bass, and he specializes in jazz piano. An avid arranger and composer, Tristan has written for the Shanghai Jazz Band and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. His original compositions are featured on albums with the Oatmeal Jazz Combo, which have been highlighted in DownBeat magazine. Tristan has received awards from international competitions, including first prizes at the Leonard Falcone Tuba Festival and the Kalamazoo Artist Competition. His bass playing has earned him accolades from the Birch Creek Music Festival and the University of Wisconsin Jazz Festival. Additionally, Tristan received a DownBeat Critics Award for his funk band, Groove Brewery, during his studies at the Eastman School of Music.
